At Woofology Dog training we believe that your dog should follow your lead because they want to, rather than obeying you out of fear of punishment. We never use physical corrections, slip leads, prong collars, citronella spray, just positive reinforcement and reward based training to help your dog make good choices again and again.
Positive reinforcement training is the only effective and humane way to train an animal. We don’t use any of the aversive techniques employed by so-called ‘balanced’ trainers, whose training methods are rooted in outdated research. If you’ve had bad experiences with other dog trainers who advised you to yank on your dog’s lead, spray them with compressed air, use a shock collar or worse, then you’ve come to the right place. We want to train you to become an effective leader for your dog, using only positive reinforcement so the two of you can enjoy a happy and rewarding relationship.
You can get any animal, up to and including humans, to do anything with a choke chain or a shock collar but we’re assuming, since you’ve read this far, that you’re looking for a different way to train your dog.
The problem with traditional dog training is that it doesn’t treat the underlying cause of the behaviour, which for many dogs is fear or anxiety, and it doesn’t teach the dog what you want them to do. Punishment in training ultimately results in a confused and emotionally shut down dog and we hope that it’s destined to be a footnote in the history of dog training.
